Part II of Boyfriend's birthday celebration:

the first part of boy's bday was in "France", that was french dinner.
the next day, dear was on leave so off we went for part II. I brought him to have yummy savoury cantonese dim sum, so from France we "flew to Hongkong".
After brunch, we went to Vivo to catch a movie Julie & Julia...is a great show!!! coincidentally the movie was set in France, this year's birthday was French themed? Nehx, not really, just that we recently developed a liking for snails ie escargots, so we have been more French-ie.
Walked around Vivo, thinking about what's for dinner..toying the idea between Korean and Japanese...in the end, we headed to Cuppage for yakitori Jap dinner!

That night marked the end of dear's birthday celebration, and the next day was back to work!!!

A few days later, which is today, marks our 51st month anniversary and I was planning to give him a surprise. I went supermarketing, bought ingredients to cook curry for dear!
Here goes what happened....i called dear while i was on way home, he didn't pick up his hp then i sms him and told him don't call me back, because "i am on a mission - cooking"
Finally the curry was stewing and i called him and told him to sniff hard!!! Of course needed him to head to my house before we can begin our feast! my initial plan was to bring him for a night picnic at ECP but weather hasn't been that good...raining all day and thunder and lightning...waited for him to take bus come my house...i called him..he missed the bus and he didn't have a brolly..so off i drove to fetch him from work...dear says im a sweet and loving girlfriend! once we're back home, we had salad, beef curry with baguette and wine!!!!!

told dear that the curry was "around the world" because....
the beef was from Australia, the tomatoes from Malaysia, onions from India, carrots from USA, baguette from France and curry from Japan......not that i created these locations, but i read them off the labels at Cold Storage!

*Thank you dearie for cooking the lovely dinner! It was divine and i could certainly feel like im travelling all over the world. I love the delicious curry and i am looking forward to eating it again! Yummy!*

*this entry is not by the owner.* Disclamier: the orange wordings are add-ons by ME (the girlfriend)

Whahaha! My dear has a interesting idea of asking the boyfriend to blog in her blog about his own birthday celebration. i found it really funny and was thinking how i could make the blog entry as interesting and amusing as how the girlfriend usually does it in hers. well anyway here goes:

On 26 Oct 2009, Monday (a.k.a MY birthday), the girlfriend dated me for dinner. Where, i was not supposed to know. So throughout the day, no matter what i did or asked, the girlfriend just kept giggling and said "its a secret!" blah! This stemmed from last year when i did the same thing to the girlfriend for her birthday! haa.. Wad goes round comes around? Last year the girlfriend drive to toa payoh and yours truly took over the wheel and drove the girlfriend to the destination amidst lotsa confusion created to make the girlfriend feel lost. Indeed she was lost and the overall effect was tremendous. For the record, we went to Dozo. Fast forward nearly a year on, the girlfriend now drove herself to my office and instead of asking me to take over the wheel, she carried on at the wheel.. Yay!!

So off we went~ driving past hdb hub, then driving along PIE, with me asking where are we going all the time. Haa! Travelling down stevens road, i screamed "Orchard!" but the girlfriend jus shrugged me away and said "NO". Wrong guess. So down we continued past Goodwood Park where i proudly exclaimed i knew the girlfriend had used her W&D contacts to ask the chefs there to prepare a durian feast for me eventhough it wasn't durian season! "NO" came just as loudly back. Duhhh.. another wrong guess

So as the car drove further down, my imaginations became wilder as i practically named all restaurants in Far East Plaza, Shaw Centre, Marriot Hotel, Wheelock and ION. "No, No, Wrong~" were all that i heard. hahaha!

So as we travelled down grange road, the options seemed to water down but yet alot more places seem plausible. I started to randomly name locations and just as i was doing so, the car turned down a familiar route towards River Valley, Clarke Quay and the Mohammad Sultan area. Ahhhhh~~ amazing race yah? so exciting for the girlfriend to drive me around to that secretive place!! heh! *some how i think that dear knows roughly where i will be bringing him to dine at but he's rather good at BS-ing me and giving me those fake expressions and act blur like a sotong*

To cut matters shorter, we really turned into MS so that eliminated Clarke Quay from the equation. My first thought was one of those restaurants at Gallery Hotel since we were there earlier for food tasting but nope, the car din venture so far. Instead, the girlfriend drove into the Robertson Quay car park and parked there. Hmmm...i was really lost. Dunno where the girlfriend was going to bring the fat boy to. *same route as the one he travelled last year, just that instead of turning right at the road junction, i went left*

So as we held hands and slowly walked down the enchanting Robertson Quay river, we walked past numerous restaurants as well. Each time we past by one, i slowed down expecting the girlfriend to stop and say "TA-DA~, here we are!" But!, we just continued walking further down. The walk was romantic but the anticipation was even stronger! And so, just when i thought we were going to some restaurant which the girlfriend had very much earlier expressed interest in dining at, I walked a little faster. At this point, the girlfriend suddenly tugged me and entered another one. WHAHAHAH we reached!! *as we were steps closer to our destination, that silly boy still hasn't really given up guessing and suddenly when he asked me are we going to the restaurant with the red signboard, i suddenly felt so sad! did my planned just foiled? he guess correct? but luckily there were 2 restaurant with red signboards so i just carried on making him confused! also partly we strolled along Robertson Quay a week ago, and we talked briefly about the restaurants along there, so i was afraid he could have been aware of the mystery location*

Brasserie Wolf! ahhhh wooooo~~ so the waiter set us down and i stared very hard the menu. errr.. everything was in french!! how was i suppose to read french? the only thing i knew was Jet Ai'me or however u spell it, which meant i love you. Alas! the english wordings were on the opposite side of the menu card! LOL! *interesting activity for the night, was to get boy to update his facebook status via his iphone*

So we ordered escargots, french onion soup, 2 main courses of tenderloin steak and prawn & scallop with marsh potato. yummilicious! First time eating authentic french onion soup with the bread, cheese and onions ooozing flavour. But the best part of the dinner was desserts. the girlfriend asked me what i wanted to eat. As usual, i can't decide so the witty girlfriend asked the waiter to recommend. So he recommended the choux ball which comes in 2s..

After 15 mins, the choux ball arrived. There were not 1 not 2 but 3 profiterole balls! Best part was, a small litted candle in between them all. That was the girlfriend's surprise birthday cake for me! So sweeeet right! hehe love you dear! and Happy Birthday to me! *the supposed cake prepared by the restaurant was Opera cake, but i called them and asked them to change it to Choux buns instead, looks cuter! and yes, i sang boy many versions of birthday song, different languages and genres!*

Well that's all for part 1 of my birthday celebration! *Ok boy has given up updating about his celebration so i shall continue with the rest of it!!!*

Hmm..none of the girls have been updating their blogs..no new juicy information for me!
This whole week has been kinda crazy for me! Birthdays after birthdays amidst the preparation works that i have to do for my trip and events coming up.

Last week was Pam's birthday, then mum and me join their family for dinner, especially given that had been rather "neglected" by dear as he has been rather busy with gatherings and yes ball games for hdb, which we have signed a "contract" that he isn't allowed to play ball games for 3 months since the time he sprained his knee cap from soccer! Pam's birthday dinner was great, just joking and laughing about work and overseas trips and the little lame stuffs that we did when we were young-er!

Then come an exhibition at Suntec. A wine fair, but there weren't any wine tastings for me till the very last day. Learnt some interesting facts from a Japnese Chinese, my neighbour booth but we hadn't spoken till then. Tasted the wines and came across an interesting Sparkling Pomegranate and Sparkling Almond wine. Unique taste and learnt about grape varietals and grape harvest. Just the basics of wine making. This sparked an interest in me and I am so going to learn wine tasting and be more learned about wines!

Yesterday was Bro's birthday! Yeah, all of us went to Old School and dinner was great. His gf prepared a surprise for him-birthday cake! After dinner, dear & me tagged along with bro to go to Zouk! Partly, we were there just to be drivers, ie to send his gf home after the party since he would be hanging out with his pals till late-early morning. The night was crazy just looking at the way they drank, and lucky no puking as of then when we left. Bro had to gulp 3 lamboginis! Flaming! Dear, me and his gf just sat there chatting and "watching" my bro's actions!
Looking back, 2 weeks ago we were singing "we are going to the ZOO" and this week we sang "we are going to ZOUK"! Wonder where's the next Z place we will be heading to???

Tonight, later will be dad's birthday celebration, us and 6 of his friends. Wonder what funny stuffs will arise. Last year at dad's celebration, his friend created a nickname for him which was super apt " icon of frugality" cause it's hard to earn money from my dad! Looking forward!

Tomorrow's gonna be dear's birthday!!! Wonder how surprising can I plan his birthday??? Main activities will be done one day later, and so far i have no idea what to do yet!!! hmm hmm..

After all these celebrations, time for me to try to shed some weight before I head to Hongkong for a week for the next exhibition. And the amount of preparatory works? Nil! Undone i mean! So this week would be another madhouse.

2009 coming to an end soon, just another 2 months plus! Looking back and thinking what have I achieved this year so far......

Beginning half of the year was still in school, struggling to complete the degree and in a twinkle of the eye, walked up the stage in gown and motar board, collected my scroll and that marked the end of my student life.

Began working, experiencing change in life's habits, having to sleep and wake up early, desk bound, not much happenings in life, expect those of weekends, but are still kinda mundane and boring. What else can one do except going to town, dine and catch a movie.

Career? Love? Family? Home? Life?
What do I really want?

This weekend was rather exciting! The whole family went to night safari, and its like 15 years since its opening! The 6 of us went to night safari and we took the Halloween tram ride! Didn't expect the night safari to be that crowded, when we reached there, long queues everywhere for tickets! It was a fun night and it ended with sweet treats of Ben & Jerry. And sadly, didn't know that B&J had "certified dead" my favourite flavour - Oatmeal Raisin, since 2008. Found out only from the B&J graveyard that was on display! (photos soon)

Friday was another night's out with dear, bro and his gf. The 4 of us went for dinner together at Simpang - prata, chicken wings, satay, murtabak, beehoon goreng, milo dinosaur and teh O limau!

Over the weekend was makeover for my room and just lazing infront of the newly assembled TV in my room, watching DVD; Da Vinci Code, had alot of my brain cells killed, thinking so hard what's what!

Last week also had a dinner tasting with dear and his friend, Candice. Was a great night, getting to know one of his friends, or rather I know who they are but not into meeting them yet! Just more to come as we have more food tastings to do, which also mean more fats!!! Grow FATS!
Last week had quite a number of activities, went shopping with Pam on her off day, went to town to help her buy clothes for her DnD, themed Rainbow, so simply just wear any of the colours, sound easy, but not that easy to find nice clothes! Anyway just heard from her that she had alot of fun, just waiting for her photos.

What a night! After driving for 5 years, received my first traffic police summon and it commands 12 demerit points and $200 fine!!! ROARS!!! Totally spoils my night just when I was having so much fun about me and dear's drive thru experience at Mac.......looks like no more drive thru for me, because now I have to be ultra careful when I drive, license at risk!

Last week was rather fun, had a SEC gathering celebrating October babies birthday, which includes dear, so that means I will be having headache on how to surprise him! SEC went to ECP for dinner and play lanterns, celebrate mooncake festival too! Then came Saturday, Pam, dear and me set off at 730am, heading for kopitiam style breakfast at Joo Chiat, then off to ECP, cycled 30km all the way to Changi Village where we stopped for lunch, then head back to ECP. Then we headed home, freshen up and get ready for our party at night, BBQ and lanterns!
And yes, dear took a day's leave, we had brunch and went to Ikea, and caught a movie at orchard- cloudy with a chance of meatballs...simply cute and like it so much!!!

House was in a mess, because aircons were leaking, needed to be changed and toilet's water tank was leaking thru the ceiling, also had to be changed. I simply love my toilet, it was miserable having to go "loan" toilet in parent's room, and on the 1st day that the toilet was out of bounds as the water mains need to be switched off, I had to bring my clothes to granny's house to shower, and it was morning before going to work, luckily granny stays just 5 minutes away!

Another new hectic week at work, planning of tasting sessions always give me headaches!
