*DAY 9 and 10*
left Florence and travelled to Rome..but on the way as usual our tour guide made us pay for optional tours that werent that optional..we went to Siena..this town that it shaped like a shell..its the most medieval town...built of 3 hills..on the other hand..Rome is built on 7 hills..

in Rome we went to see another wonder of the world..the colosseo..then went to Spanish Steps for shopping..that place was named so bcos the Spanish embassy was the 1st to be located there..then we went to the Trevi Fountain..the fountain that u see in the hongkong drama featuring the pilots..at there one can make only 4 wishes..

1. for urself
2. for ur loved one
3. for other people
4. to break up with ur loved one..

anyway i wun tell u all wad my wishes were..but i only made 2..hehe..nt so greedy..it was oso in Rome where the 1st gelato ice cream was sold and created..

in Italy i will say that it is kinda unsafe..bcos u gt to guard against the gypsies and the blacks..then traffic is horrid..gt to stay indoors when its dark..
compared to Switzerland where the pple are friendly, drive safe..water safe to drink cos it comes frm the Alps..nt so much pasta and pizza to gorge for meals..

anyway this is the end of my Europe trip..

*DAY 8*
we went to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa..it was rather funny and amusing at the site bcos everyone was just trying to tk candid shots with the tower..trying to get the correct angle of you either supporting or pushing the tower down..

we toured the city of Florence..visited this open air museum..all the statues and sculptures were naked..just like the statue of David..rather unique but at the same time abit RA..hehe..
i was rather puzzled who this David was such that Michaelangelo was famous bcos of it..so all day long i kept asking my bro "who David is"..his answer was rhetoric lah..in the end used wikipedia and found out the answer..haha..

that nite's dinner was the Florentine steak..actually it isnt that fantastic..i think those steak that we eat at kopitiam taste better and cheaper..hehe..

*DAY 7*
this is a rather interesting and romantic day..well because i visited VENICE..you know..the island is sinking at 1mm per year..soon..predicted that in 2030 it will vanish already..so if ur are married by then..please do go there for ur honeymoon..hehe..anyway..venice is made up of 117 islands and its connected by 400 over bridges..

at venice..there is the "bridge of sighs"..its where the prisoners will last see their family at from the prison..why this name..its bcos its when the prisoners will sigh with remorse and regretwhen they cross it.. thinking abt why did they commit sins..it is also in this prison that the all time great lover..Casanova escaped...however now that bridge is called the "romantic bridge"..if u and ur loved one sit a gondola and while under the bridge, both of u kiss..both of u will be in love with each other forever..sweet eh..only regret..too bad he wasnt with me...

looking at venice resembles the senotosa cove..where ur houses have a waterfront..everyone owns a boat in order to travel arnd...most interesting..seeing how the pple do construction and repairs and piling when the whole city is filled with water..well..they balance on the boat lor..hehe..

that day..we ate the famous tiramisu..whaha..squid ink pasta..proschiutto and funghi pizza..hot choc to keep warm..haha..but then agn..alhough foods good..the price is even better when u pay in euros..haha

taking a break off frm my travel blog..
what did i do for xmas..basically i touched down at 7am on xmas day..came home to unpack, rest for a while..and then off to have xmas high tea with granny, aunts and uncles..after that was stay home and played mahjong at nite..

on boxing day..went out with arthur for our post xmas celebration..it was raining lah..kinda killjoy..but took it as some walk in the rain together..went to have jap food for dinner..especially after all the italian food i had in europe..gonna skip on pasta, baguette, pizzas, gelato for the rest of the year..wanted to watch movie but sold out..that nite came home and check my results..actually i noe my results when i was in europe already..bcos of the NUS glitch..anyway..rather happy that i improved..but could haf done better...haiz..wads the use of sighing now..how abt walking across the bridge of sighs in venice..den mayb i will repent..hopefully next sem do good..

today..went to vivo..woah superly duperly crowded..watched "the holiday"...nice and funny..the indian woman beside me laughed so loud lah..den her husband had to keep covering her mouth with his hand..whaha..wanted to watch "night at the museum" too..but guess shall watch it another day..ate dinner at that express..heeh..one of the better meals i had since i came back..hehe..after that went to introbar for drinks..hehe..just simply had to booze out..

what haf i achieved in this year?
well i had been rather lazy i guess..hehe..could haf used all my free time to study instead of playing..
at least i managed to meet up with frens whom i hafnt seen in a long time..also this year has been the most number of successful gathering for the extinct gang and 2s27..just got to thank all of them for attending my 21st birthday..gosh i am older already...
had new acquainted frens..my sweetie maggie...weijing..welcome to our SEC!!!
i mastered the basics of bahasa indonesia...

but sadly..most upsetting..simply just had to be those times when both of us dun click andthink on the same frequency..many times we had fought, screamed, cried..guess it has already outnumbered those happy times that we had..it has already been more than a year..do we just not understand each other well enough..?? what is lacking and missing in our lives..do we just wan much more from each other as time passes? all those sorries that we said..all those hurtful words that came out from our heart..aint it aching? did u find love or did love find u? others dun fight as much as we do..is it we dun accept each other or what..how long more does all these haf to drag..

Duomo..world's largest marble chapel..just look at the number of peaks of the church..inside the chapel was very grand..with all the stained glass..the giant pillars..thinking of how the people of olden days are so mighty and capable of building all these structures and they are able to last till now..over hundreds of years..as compared to recent buildings that just topple when an earthquake strikes..

*DAY 6*

off we go for Milano-Milan..the city of fashion..

along the way to Venice..we detoured to Verona..the home to Romeo and Juliet..in the foto..thats the famous balcony of Juliet where Romeo will climb up to enter her house..also the statue of Juliet..but there's something funny about that..everyone who takes foto with it has to place one hand on her right breast..as everyone rubs it, the copper has became so shiny..seems to be for good luck or something good at least..

*DAY 5*
we departed from Interlaken, swizterland..headed for Italy..we first had to pass by Lugano..in the foto is Lake Lugano..also that was the place that i saw my dream car..a MARCH COUPE..whaha..later i will post a picture of the car for u all to see..its just so chio..oh gosh..simply drool over that car..

anyway that day we went to Foxstown..a factory outlet..i got myself 2 diesel tees..hehe..dad and bro were on shopping spree too lah..they got pairs of leather shoes..

*DAY 3*
left Lucerne to visit Bern for like 20mins..then travelled all the way down to Interlaken..the ski resort area..just a little town with shops which one can just walk from one end of the town to the other in like 20mins..spent 2 nites there..

that nite after the long hours on the bus..we had fondue dinner..wun say that the food was that fantastic..but the boss of the restaurant was very entertaining..he sang, joked..created the atmosphere especially since it was the gloomy winter..in order to eat the chocolate fondue..every table had to send a representative and blow the swiss horn..u know the horn that u see in the ricola sweet advertisement? yesh..thats the one..luckily..i managed to make a small noise out of it..haha..TADA!!! more chocolate fondue..

however..the nxt day..surprisingly we managed to walk for like 6hrs from after breakfast till 4pm..haha..as we were having optional tour that day to visit the Alps..but it cost CHF130 per pax..with the 4 of us, that amount of money can bring us to bangkok for a shopping spree..haha..anyway we went to the supermarket..had lunch..had a cup of free hot red wine by the street..did some shopping and lastly..dinner was in the hotel room..each one a packet of instant noodles..haha..

hey peeps!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!! i am back from europe!! went to Switzerland and Italy for a 12 day tour...
now that i am back in 1 piece..i shall describe and post fotos of my trip..don't be jealous ok?

*DAY 1*
i departed from Singapore at 2355..however the flight was delayed and departed at 0045 instead..so basically i spent my day 1 in Singapore rather than on the tour..wad a waste of time..

*DAY 2*
arrived in Zurich..immediately we visited the Rhinefalls which is the largest fall in Europe, however because it was so early in the morning at 8am..fog and mist..we could only hear the fall, can't see it at all..how pathetic!!! this fall runs from Switzerland to Germany to France and to Netherlands. aint it long?

after that proceeded to Germany just to have our lunch - German pork knuckle!!! MaMa Mia!!!
drove by the famous Blackforest where the blackforest cake got its name from too..well the cake wasn't that great, just that it originated from Germany.
also visited the cuckoo clock factory and saw how the cuckoo clock was made...interesting!!

that night was spent in the City of Lux (lights)...Lucerne in Switzerland..why called that..well because the 1st chapel was built in that city..meaning the angel shone their light over there.

hmm..i didn't know that the Switzerland flag is SQUARE..unlike other country's flags are rectangular..similar for the Vatican too..

some other facts abt Swizterland...
1) its the 2nd most mountaineous country in the world with Austria being the 1st..really..everywhere u go there are just mountains surrounding u..actually kinda boring but its just so scenic..

2) they gt no natural resources..so they rely on hydro-power..and they are very inventive..they created chocolates like toberone..then because every city in europe makes car..so the swiss also recently started to make cars..the SMART car..aint they smart..hehe

oh yeah..this is the eye opener of korea..and i mean it..did u ever know that tigers and lions cant live under the same roof..BUT..it happened in korea's zoo..and the lion and tiger mated and gave birth to what is known as a LIGER!!! cute rite..hehe..

more food..the famous "chao nian gao"..how to eat this? well u got to wrap the chicken in lettuce and eat it..its the korean's culture to eat meat wrapped in veggie..so that it wun be so jialut eating just meat..super healthy but still yummy..then u got the nian gao to eat too..QQ..

kamsahamida!!! me wearing a hanbok..korea's national costume..think many would have seen this on those korean dramas..my trip to korea last yr was great..learnt how to make kimchi..ate it every meal too!!! tried their ginseng strawberries too..the farmers water the strawberry plants with ginseng water..even plants lead a better life than me..sighz..i skied for the 1st time too..so tiring lah..5secs down the slope, 5mins to climb back up again..WEE eee!!!

i thought last friday i was able to go to thailand..but nw it has been postponed in januarary..i miss the spicy mango salad..the delicious beef soup..mango and glutinous rice dessert..of cos..not forgetting those cheap "peng peng" clothes and accessories to be bought..my next trip will be a truckload full of goodies..i want to buy many stuffs back and set up an online shop..my new year resolution..to be an ENTREPRENUER!!!

hmm..today was a wonderful day..finally the SSB had an outing..just the 6 of us..wonderful time..we had dinner at long john at PS..den we walked from PS to far east..and then from far east all the way back to selegie to eat tau huay before heading home..hmm..the walk was long and hot and smoky but fun..cos as usual we were gossipping and stalking an unofficial couple along orchard rd..but we kinda failed our task..tsk tsk..not so pro PIs yet..during tau huay break we tried our 2nd career..matchmakers..but also failed.cos the boy and the girl simply refused to reveal any juice to us..so we had to ownself entertain ourselves with our own gossips..then again we introduced some courtship tactics to the guy..hmm..wonder which one will be of best use to him..the "hit n run" or "give u warm" or "horror movie"..many more..haha..

now in the midst of planning our pot luck yr end party..hehe..u peeps plan le just tell me OK..i wun be arnd to tk part in planning..but we the prog cellers shld be pretty pro liao..i "chop" the dessert hor..MA DI MA DE PIE!!!

last week..for got which day..went to taka eat high tea at royal copahagen with mr ho..hmm..can say that its pretty reasonably priced..the set got 2 finger sandwich and can choose 2 slices of cake..a pot of tea/coffee..then we ordered a extra iced latte..ate blueberry cake and a pear cake..yummy...total abt $30..

last friday was erin's 21st..hehe..she had a wonderful 2 tier bdae cake..super chocolatey too..had a pretty butterfly on her cake with flowers all around..simple yet sophisticated..we bought her a red bag..hmm..we had violent objections from shiwei..but we still took red..haha..anyway erin likes it...hehe..her house is kinda ulu..i made a wrong turn and end up u-turn twice before i found the estate..then missed a turn to her house..then made a turn at some small lane..and TADA..found her house..finally..and we were 1st to arrive..honoured girl??

hmm..2 more days and i'm flying off to europe already..hehe..gonna pack my bags soon..hope i dun forget to bring anything..take many many fotos..eat many many local delicacies..but not hoping to be a fat pig when i come back..hehe..

anyway..juz found out that i haf a horrid timetable next sem..mon n tue all my 4 core mod's lecture..4-6pm, 7-9pm..argh!!!
die already..so stressful..time to plan timetable again..wad a headache..cant they sch simply plan it for us..haiz...
and also..haha..to all those NUS students who think they can siam the car park barrier nxt time..no chance liao..cos they gonna install ERP style parking system..so just drive thru and it will "TEE"...hahaha..smart doing...
