This is probably the only thing that I enjoy about my work! Whenever restaurants or hotels have new items to promote, or during festive periods, there will be samples to try!!!
Today's sample: Patersserie
Over the weekend, did a function at Equinox and got the chance to sample 2 wonderful and delicious desserts, and soak inthe wonderful scenary of Singapore from the 70th storey!

This entry is written on request by mbak cow, since she didn't join the gathering on Saturday, so I shall update her, though I know that in a few hours time when she meets the girls to go school collect convo gown, they too will update her!
First, we went eat korean BBQ for dinner at suntec! Food variety rather limited, nonetheless pretty OK, given the good company! About 1/3 of SEC will be civil servants, working for the government! I am the only one who's in the private sector!!!! :)
After that, some left for own entertainment! The remaining of us went down to mindcafes to play game! TABOO! But not the typical one!! OK end of the event!!!
Then comes Sunday, whole day spent eating!!! Me and dear went to Isetan Scotts, bought food from the Hokkaido fair and ate our own mini 'ala carte buffet'. Squid ink shao mai, crab shao mai, hotate bao, octopus bao, caramel crossiant, red bean pancake!!!! And then at night, had a potluck dinner at granny house. Felt like a pig the whole day, but the tummy feels good with the yummy food!
Today, met up with a friend whom I haven't met for like 5 years!!! Feels nice to do some catching up and knowing that one is doing well and fine! :) In comparison, I bumped into 2 friends on Saturday, called out their names and they just 'OH HI', and I felt so......sadly.....thought that it would have been nice if they could even pause and stop for a moment and chat for a little while, since we haven't met in a while and guess I haven't seen her for about 2 years. Singapore isn't that big, but somehow I don't seem to bump into people on the streets.
Hopefully, SSB alone will have another gathering and I would have that chance to catch up with mbak and my nuer!!!

Oh My Gosh!! Just check my nus email, whilst at work, and got a shock to read the email saying that 2 students that attended SDE's orientation camp are H1N1 positive! The camp got cancelled and all the students got to monitor their health.
Just a slight 'entertainment entry', while at work and feeling bored.
Yesterday, dear took day's off to accompany me to school to collect my convo gown, and go pak tor with me! We went to orchard, watched Ghosts of Girlfriend's Past, had high-tea, walked around town and had a great eat-booze dinner at Isetan supermarket!
Looking forward to tomorrow! Got to work on a Saturday but after the hard day's work, there is the SEC dinner to look forward to. Though not that excited about the kind of food that we are eating, but looking foward to the company and not forgetting the gossips and stories to hear about!!!!
Alright, back to action and for now, shall just wait for time to pass slowly, though I want it to be faster, so that I can go home and rest and satisfy my rumbling growling tummy with hot yummy food!

Back from trip number 2! Went to China, Sichuan Province :)
Not really a well developed and flowery city, but good enough and a not too bad part of China, in terms of food, cleanliness and people. Most of the time was spent on the highlands (tibetian plateau), at least 3000m above sea level, luckily we didn't suffer from any altitude sickness. Dad, Bro and me were doing well thru'out the 8 days! We were also blessed with good weather which enabled us to view the scenary in perfect condition.
On this trip, there are some really unforgettable experiences, frights, laughs and all, which I shall now recollect and share with all. Photos wise, just view them from facebook!!
Experience 1:When we first arrived in Chengdu airport, we needed to get out of the airport and meet the guide for breakfast before we check in again to catch a flight to Jiu Zhai Gou. Not so carefully, while exiting the arrival hall, dad dropped, let loose of his waist pouch from his hands!!! Of course we PANIC!! Because all of our travel expenses $$$ are in that pouch!!! Without that, 3 of us can no need to buy food, see panda (optional tour, need to pay $) and buy souvenirs!!! We told the guide, who kindly told the customs officers and gong-an for us and they were so nice! They replayed the CCTV, check where we dropped and whether anybody picked it up and ran off. They also helped us check with the airport cleaners and inspected the toilets, cause we went to the toilet too and broadcast on the PA and walkie talkies. After 30mins, we concluded that if it was a chinese who picked it up, seeing the cash and dad's handphone, that thief would probably have taken any of the domestic flights and flew off already! So we decided to case close, anyway bro and I got some cash and worse come to worse, use credit card. We went for our breakfast, but as we were walking outside the airport, the gong-an came running after us and say someone picked up our pouch and deposited it at the 'left baggage' counter!!! WOW!! We were totally stunned and amazed and overjoyed, given that, in China, a kind soul made a report and said that someone from Air China flight dropped the pouch! THAT'S US (daddy)! For so long, years of travelling, dad experienced for the first time he lost his pouch and money-less! We never felt so "RICH" before when we got the pouch back!
Experience 2:We went to Mount E-mei, climb our way up and walked thru' the clouds and wet above the clouds! (up to heaven?) On the return, in the cable car, there was this group of buddhist followers, about 40 of them, chanted non-stop while the cable car was travelling down the mountain. Bro and I felt so enlighten and knew that the cable car sure to be blessed!
Experience 3:For 2 meals a day, lunch and dinner, for the 7 days.......the table sure to have.....fried eggs with tomato, stir fry cucumber with pork, purple spinach, kang kong, veggie soup, mushroom with ham in soup, stir fry cucumber with carrot, tomato with eggs and seaweed soup.
Conclusion, no more economical (cai fan) rice for me and bro for the next 1 month!
Experience 4:Who ever said that pandas can only take black and white photos? One the day that I was going to visit the pandas, dear sms me and requested that he wants a coloured panda photo! OK! According to the qian bian question, pandas can't take coloured photos. To satisfy and beat dear flat, I changed my camera setting to SEPIA mode and I took a photo of a panda (black and white) and TADA, it's REDDISH! No speck of black nor white!
Experience 5:Dad tried the Tibetian qigong and it's really WOW!!! Bro and me saw right infront of us, that the doctor just mustered his Qi and HA! on dad's body, did cupping and the spot, and after that....."bad" blood that was black permeated from the skin...there was one that was a bloodclot too. If after 2 months, with chinese herbs, dad feels better, I could probably organise a trip back there, bringing mum and granny to cure and take away their pains and ills.

Survived yet another week of working! And I declare that I am going to avoid mushrooms for the next few weeks and even months, because I have been seeing and eating and surrounded by different types of mushrooms for the past 2 weeks. Why? Because I had to help my boss, who is mummy, with her mushrooms recipe book, so we have been doing cooking and photography of mushrooms over the past 2 Saturdays. After everything is done, we will eat the cooked mushrooms......now I see those fungi, I will run as far as I can!
In a couple of hours more, going to take flight to chengdu, jiu zhai gou! Just me and daddy and brother! Mummy is too busy with work to take time off, while me as her assistant gets to go on the trip! Oops!
Finally dear is over and done with his case study of carparks, but just when he has the time for me, we will not be spending time together as I will be in China! Hmm Hmm! Pity he can't take leave and go on the trip with me....SOBX!
OK..shall blog about my trip when I am back. Current life in S'pore isn't happening!

This week I worked 6 day-week. Had a photoshoot session to do on Saturday. Luckily it was a food photoshoot session, so I got to eat the food after the photos were taken! Job is getting abit boring, cause doing typing all day long and it caused me a sprain neck. Amongst the mundane duties comes the interesting ones, such as going to a mushroom farm to look at mushrooms and tomorrow I will be attending a meeting at Equinox! I will have the chance to enjoy the great view from above!
And this week will be another 6-day week cause Saturday got another session of photoshoot again. But when midnight comes, I will be off again!

I've got the ultra confusing destination for my June trip!
Initially, the plan was to go to China, Jiuzhaigou. Then, we decided maybe we shall head to Russia, changed to Spain, changed to France, changed to Bali & Bangkok or Vietnam, changed to even heading back to Australia again! Yesterday the decision was to go to New Zealand, did some tour checking, and just about 10minutes ago, we changed our minds and we are off back to going to China, Jiuzhaigou! How wonderful!
Going to New Zealand was almost there, but as mum hasn't been there before and she can't take leave for that period because of events, so we said that we shall go together another time as a family. Also, I am supposed to help her with events, but yet I wouldn't be in the office that period to help her, so going to China kind of makes me feel less guilty.
Planned to go to Bangkok or Bali with dear since we can't go to Japan..yet..But he's so busy with his work and presentation and now roster for the Loyang chalet, makes things even harder to plan. At least there is still Hongkong to look foward too! :)
Worst case, there is staycation!
I am suffering office blues!
